Projects

Create a project

Let's create our first Polygot project together!

  1. From the home page (if this is your first project, otherwise go the the "Projects" page) click the "New project" button: the project creation dialog should open New project button
  2. Type your project's name. This name should be the same as the one you use in your product, especially if this name is composed of real words. This allows our algorithm to not translate your project name when it encounters it.
  3. Choose the source language. This is the language in which you write the text content of your project. This source content will be used to generate the translations.
  4. Select the target languages. These are the languages your source content will be translated into.
  5. Type a description for your project (this step is optional but highly recommanded). Give details about your product: type (website, software, mobile game, etc.), main topic, main features, typical audience, etc. This information will help generate more accurate translations. New project dialog
  6. Click the "Create" button

And here we are! Our first project is already created.

Now you probably want to actually link this Polygot project to your product. You can do this by either using our CLI or our API.

Other integrations will soon be available, enabling you to integrate Polygot even more easily, with more types of products. If you have a particular integration in mind, please let us know!

Update a project

Your products can evolve over time. This means that you can update your Polygot projects at any time.

Updating a Polygot project also means the ability to add and remove target languages.

  1. Navigate to your Polygot project page
  2. Click the "Edit" button within the "Details" frame Edit project button
  3. Modify you project's information: you can change its name, add or remove target languages, modify its description (which is important for translation quality and relevance) Update project dialog
  4. Click the "Save" button to validate your modifications
